Grader Operator


About the Role

Operator will operate heavy machinery to spread and level materials like soil, gravel, and rock on construction sites, preparing surfaces for roads, parking lots, and other projects. Key responsibilities include operating manual and hydraulic controls to manipulate the grader's attachments, performing routine maintenance such as lubrication and refueling, and ensuring the safety of other workers on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use manual and hydraulic controls to maneuver the grader's blade to spread and level materials.
  • Conduct routine checks, service, lubricate, and refuel the machine, and perform minor adjustments and repairs.
  • Adjust controls to regulate speed and material flow, and monitor the equipment's performance.
  • Follow plans, markers, and verbal instructions. May also assist with worksite preparation, marking, and controlling traffic.
  • Ensure the safety of other workers on the job site and maintain a tidy and clean work area.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Current necessary operators license.
  • Minumum 5 years experience.
  • Trade Certificate or Diploma or equivalent apprenticeship or associate Degree is desirable.
  • Prior experience in given role and construction industry is highly valued.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with others on site.
  • Mechanical aptitude for performing minor repairs and maintenance.

Physical health is paramount for this role, as you will often be required to work in demanding environments and schedules.
